Case Study: Google Ads and Kiwi Hire Group

Case Study: Google Ads and Kiwi Hire Group

The client – Kiwi Hire Group

Kiwi Hire Group is an equipment hire company based in Waiwhakaiho Valley. They have a loyal customer base of industrial clients but had a feeling new customers and weekend DIY enthusiasts were probably looking online and were unaware of their company and the range of equipment they had on offer. They wanted to ensure Kiwi Hire Group was top of mind when it came to hiring equipment in Taranaki.

The brief

The client had two main aims – they wanted to reach the weekend hire market and raise awareness of their hire range in the light industrial hire market with customers searching for equipment hire online.

Website
Step one was creating a website that was professional, easy to navigate and allowed customers to see the full range of equipment in detail and request a quote. The website was built and designed with customers Google Ad journeys top of mind.

Google ads
Kiwi Hire Group choose to run Google Ads, both branded and product-specific, and targeted New Plymouth searchers initially. They set their daily budget, approved the content for their ads and sat back and waited for the phone to ring.

The result – the taps turns on

The client described it as turning the tap on the minute the ads started running. The beauty of Google Ads means they were able to turn that tap on and off as required! Website sessions have tripled with the new site and the Google Ads are generating high-quality enquiries that are translating to bookings. Business has increased and repeat custom and word of mouth recommendations followed. Kiwi Hire Group have had to invest in more port-a-loos and are fielding enquiries for industrial equipment from outside of the region.

Now what – set and forget?
While there is a ‘set and forget’ feel to Google Ads Kiwi Hire Group looks at their monthly conversions and makes sure they are nailing the search terms people use to find hire equipment and they test different ads against each other to make sure they are making the most of their budget. When they first set up their Google Ads campaign they had a third of the enquiries they have now, which shows it takes time to refine online advertising.
